If the land acquired by a person or his family in the capacity of a land owner as part of a plot of land or left by a river or a river, and if he had any land before that, if it exceeds the maximum limit specified in section 7, he shall assign it within 35 days of its acquisition. The following should be filed with the designated officer. But if it is found that the deadline should be extended upon the application of the concerned person, the designated officer can give an additional deadline of up to 7 days.
(2) After the filing of an appeal against someone in accordance with sub-section (1), the designated officer shall take action in accordance with section 14 and section 15 in relation to such land owner and land.
